I took the 2 day canyoneering course. Our guide Joe was very knowledgeable and went above and beyond to make sure everyone in our party had a great experience. He answered all emailed questions very promptly and provided excellent recommendations for lodging and food in the area. All the gear we needed was provided. I would highly recommend this company to anyone interested in outdoor adventures.
I was rolling into town and found out about their rock climbing adventure, but in talking to Joe he suggested the canyoneering adventure instead. I HIGHLY recommend if you're in the area to give it a try, Joe was an awesome guide and the experience is unforgettable!
We chose to take a brew tour with Pura Vida during our honeymoon in Brevard, NC, and we are so thankful we did! First, Joe picked us up at our location and took us to Oskar Blues Brewery where we got a personal tour through the brewery and even picked up some free-beer as a honeymoon gift! Oskar Blues was a great place to start, as we learned about the process of making beer from all stages in the game. After this, Joe took us to Brevard Brewing Company where we were able to get a more local feel for the brew scene in Brevard. Good conversations abounded, as Joe tailored the trip and the conversations to our questions and interests. We stopped for some food at a local taco shop and then headed to our last place, Ecusta Brewing. At Ecusta, Joe gave us maps, tips and info on exploring waterfalls and scenic mountains for the rest of our stay! Overall, we were impressed with how Joe tailored the brew tour to our desire to learn about the brewing process, experience life in Brevard and explore some outdoor adventures--all in one trip! A definite recommendation if you're looking to experience local brew culture and plan an outdoor excursion with someone who knows both worlds, inside and out!
I reserved a bear canister through Pura Vida for a backpacking trip this past weekend. Upon arrival the place was closed, and there where no bear canisters in the place that I was told there would be. The business looks like it is run out of an old run down house. There is a sign on the door that reads "Smile your on camera." The owner obviously didn't pass 3rd grade spelling class. I did receive a refund though. However, I would not do business with them again.
